Justice Rapid Response (JRR) will be holding a training course on International Criminal Investigations, in Finland, from 10 to 20 October 2016. The course will be held in partnership with the Institute for International Criminal Investigations (IICI), at the kind invitation of the Finnish Defense Forces International Centre, FINCENT. It is made possible thanks to a generous contribution from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
We encourage nominations from criminal justice and related professionals for this upcoming training course. JRR is particularly looking for French or Russian speaking professionals with experience in the fields of investigations into core international crimes; crimes involving and/or against children; SGBV investigators; mental health specialists; digital forensic specialists; internal investigators; Human Rights monitors and analysts; national prosecutors, etc. For the full list, please refer to the attached Call for Nominations.
The goal of this training course is to increase the pool of experts that can be deployed rapidly at the request of the international community. This 10-day training course is specifically tailored for professionals with experience in dealing with international crimes, to prepare them for missions involving multi-disciplinary, diverse monitoring and investigative teams that can be deployed rapidly and with short reporting deadlines.
Candidates who successfully complete the training course become eligible for certification onto the JRR roster, in order to be available to assist States, as well as the United Nations and other international institutions with the jurisdiction to carry out investigations into such crimes.
We encourage nominations from professionals with relevant expertise as specified in the Call for Nominations, and who are willing and could be made available for short-term international deployments at short notice.
Deadline for nominations is 8 July 2016.
Nomination package – Please download the Call for Nomination GI Finland Oct 2016 and the application forms below. An application will be considered for selection only after JRR has received the following completed documents:
1) JRR Personal History Form (PHF) completed by the expert submitted in two formats:
a. Electronic Excel file;
b. Hand-signed and scanned Pdf or Jpeg file;
2) JRR Nomination Form Training Course_GI_2016 completed and hand-signed by the employer (this can be submitted by the applicant or directly by the nominating entity);
3) JRR_Supervisor_Recommendation_Form_GI_2016 completed, signed and sent to JRR directly by the supervisor of the expert.
