The JRR Roster
Justice Rapid Response is the only global facility that provides rapidly deployable experts to investigate international crimes and serious human rights violations and to enable a holistic, gender-sensitive, and inclusive approach to justice. Our experts are deployed to international investigative mechanisms, national authorities undergoing transitional justice processes and civil society organizations active in documenting violations in order to engage with justice processes.
The Justice Rapid Response Roster consists of a pool of over 750 justice and human rights experts representing over 50 professions, ranging from criminal investigators, sexual and gender-based violence experts, forensic experts, prosecutors, military analysts, transitional and restorative justice experts, psychosocial experts, legal analysts, child rights experts, to digital investigators. In a long-standing partnership with UN Women, over 240 sexual and gender-based violence justice experts work to strengthen accountability for crimes of sexual and gender-based violence.
Together, the JRR experts encompass the highest level of skills, knowledge and professionalism to advance justice and accountability. Through a competitive selection process, we continue recruiting highly qualified experts with an increasingly diverse range of expertise from around the world to keep refining the expertise available on the Roster.
These experts come from both the public and private sectors. They are trained to work within international teams and in challenging circumstances, such as in countries in conflict. They bring hands-on knowhow and competencies to bolster international, national and civil society teams investigating reported genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and serious human rights violations. They also help develop transitional justice strategies and on how to better address the needs in terms of justice for victims and survivors.
